About Sophia Longo
With more than 10 years of experience creating print designs for fabrics, Sophia has worked with an array of clients in the fashion industry and her designs have been showed in international fairs like Première Vision Paris and Première Vision NYC.
She has been working in fashion design as a full-time print-pattern designer since she graduated in 2007 in Fashion Design from FASM (São Paulo, Brazil).
After that, she studied Art History and started to play with watercolors.
Mixing techniques can be found in her work, where she brings traditional drawings meet digital patterns.
She began at a time when everyone was creating designs with photographs, as digital printing became more affordable, photos were the first way to explore the unlimited color innovation.
In 2014, she began teaching and discovered her true calling. From 2015 to 2016, she was a professor at Santa Marcelina Faculty (FASM), in São Paulo, teaching Fashion Illustration and also at Innovation Creative School (ICS), teaching Pattern Design and Painting.
Today, she lives in Canada with her husband, where she showcases her watercolor work in art gallery exhibitions. She also works as an assistant to the Canadian artist, Susanna Blunt, and continues to teach internationally in person and online.
